Accessibility, on the website and at the inn
We would rather tell you what we know and admit what we do not than leave you to find out on arrival.
This website
It is built to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. In practice that means it works with a keyboard alone, it works with a screen reader, text can be enlarged without anything breaking, colour contrast has been checked rather than assumed, and if your device is set to reduce motion, every animation on the site switches off.
If something here does not work for you, we would genuinely like to know. Call 828-479-8126 or email reservations@oldblueboar.com and tell us what happened. We will fix it and, in the meantime, do whatever you needed the website to do for you over the phone.
The inn itself
We cannot yet publish accurate access information about the building: which suites have steps, doorway widths, bathroom layouts, or the surface underfoot between the car and the door. Rather than guess, please call us and tell us what you need. We will walk the building and give you a straight answer before you book.
One thing we can say now: the walk down to our dock is a woodland path, not a made-up footway, and it is downhill on the way there.
